At the beginning of March we took the girls up to Tahoe for some snow time. We got there late Friday night and it was actively snowing. It was Lily's second time in the snow, but the first time she remembers and her first experience with it snowing.
We went to bed and this is what we woke up to the following morning. Very pretty view from our deck.
Daddy and Lily had a lesson scheduled so we headed to the resort and rented all the gear and suited up.
Daddy and Lily are ready to hit the slopes!
Here they are learning how to use the skis by following their instructor around using only one ski.
Then they came back and put on their second ski to learn how to do the pizza.
Here they are at the top of the bunny hill ready to come down for the first time.
Here's a picture of Lily with her instructor at the end of their lesson.
Here is Lily in the car at Safeway about 30 minutes after her lesson. She was pretty wiped out!
Of course, she recovered and after a quick lunch she hit the back yard for some playtime in the snow.
Hey Grandpa look! No socks!
Fiona hung out inside with an apple that Lily had abandoned for snow play.
We sent Fi out on the sled too. She was pretty underwhelmed with the snow.
Lily and Connor had a blast in the sled track the Daddy's made on the hill in the back.
Fiona decided to sit and watch instead of sled.
Later we all went inside to play and get warm by the fire.
Then back out for more snow fun!
Sunday morning began with some snow play on the deck.
We decided to taste it. Its not too yummy.
Meghan made us all french toast for breakfast!
Then we went back outside for more sledding and snowman action.
There was some snow throwing too.
Here is the snowman that got made.
Meghan helped me add some decoration to the snow person's head.
Then we got suited up for a final round of skiing.
After some warm ups on the little hill, Daddy and I tried the chair lift.
Then Ron took the two of us on the lift up the big hill for a long slow ski through the trees.
Then we packed up and hopped in the car to head home. We all stopped for dinner together. Here is Fi enjoying some artichoke.

No shoes in the snow--I can't imagine why she gets sick. Or why she was less than enthralled by that cold, wet stuff.
