Halloween

OK Bonnie, here you go. Fiona dressed up as Olaf for Halloween. She had been sick with a cold. It was pouring rain so they had to be inside. James and I went to school to help her change into her costume.

 Here is her class all dressed up that day.

 There was time for a story before the parade started.

All the kids went into the big room for the parade and story and songs.

 Fiona is taking dance class at school and her class did a performance.

Afterward the kids had a little party with treats. Fiona had chosen to bring carrots and hummus. She was the only one who ate any of it...

Then James and I went home to get ready for Lily's parade. We went early again to help Lily and her classmates change into their costumes. It was still raining so we headed to the lunch room for the parade.

After Lily's parade we went to pick up Fiona. She had a fever so we took her home to get ready for trick or treating and potluck. Half an hour later, Fiona puked all over me. Needless to say, she stayed home while Daddy and Lily went trick or treating.

Halloween Parties

In the week leading up to Halloween we had several different activities going on. The Colusa Circle near our house does a Halloween celebration each year. There is a witch hunt and when you find the witch at all the businesses, you get ice cream. Lily decided to wear her duck costume from ballet.

 Fiona went with Lily's Minnie Mouse costume. She calls it hot dog because when she watches Mickey Mouse club, Minnie does the hot dog dance.

 The vet's office had a little scene for taking a photo.

 Later that day, Lily's school had their fall carnival. Daddy and Aili's dad spent two hours doing airbrush tattoos. Fiona got a star on her leg and a turtle on her arm.

Fiona's school also had a halloween potluck. Fiona chose to dress up as Winnie the Pooh.

 Lily chose not to dress up.

 At the potluck Fiona decided to try to make a mask. She colored and then really wanted to use scissors to cut it out herself.

 Later she complained that the bear costume was too hot. She took it off and headed outside for some swing time.

It was a busy weekend with lots of fun Halloween time.

Pumpkin carving

Due to the rain, we had to do our pumpkin carving inside this year. Daddy cut off all the tops and then we went to work emptying the pumpkins.

 Fiona tried drawing her own face on the pumpkin with a crayon.

 Lily did all her own pumpkin work this year, from emptying the pumpkin guts, drawing her face and cutting all the pieces out.

 Fiona tried getting out the pumpkin guts, but she wasn't wild about it so Mommy had to finish.

 Here are the completed pumpkins. Lily's is on the left. Fiona/mommy's is in the middle (she wanted a funny face). Daddy's is on the end.
