Today was the talent show at my school. I participated in 4 numbers this year. I started out with a fun partner dance that made Daddy and Mommy laugh. Mommy even laughed so much she cried. My partner was definitely not the lead in the dance!
Then I danced to the Jackson 5 song with some of my friends. I had done this at my birthday party too, but it was fun to see with the boys part.
Next my class did a little song/poem that was really cute. Mommy and Daddy are not sure about the meaning, but we did a good job. Mommy especially likes Maddalena (next to me with the pink hair) and how into the poem she got.
Finally I danced a ballet solo. We had been practicing a little routine at home, but I told Mommy that I had decided to just do whatever was in my head instead. It was ok with my teachers, so I got to do my own little dance.
Mommy and Daddy were really proud of me. I was happy they could come watch and even happier that Mommy took me home with her afterwards!

Fifth Birthday Party
On the Friday before my party, Mommy took me to see Marcia and Paul. Bella had just gotten home from college and she took me in the back and got me an apron. Then we got two trays of cookies and I got to help decorate them to look like Mickey Mouse
Here I am with my piping bag of chocolate and Bella was helping me learn how to squeeze the chocolate out.
I got to stand on a step stool and then I piped on the eyes, nose and mouths.
Bella did most of the ears, but I helped out a little on a few of them.
Finally, Bella gave me some sparkle dust and a brush and I tapped the sparkles on the Mickey ears.
Here is one of the completed cookies.
I think adding the sparkles was my favorite part of the whole experience.
On Saturday morning we went back to Masses and picked up my amazing birthday cake. I think Paul thought we were feeding 60 people instead of 30!
They put my name and my new age on the cake plate too.
I went through several outfits for the dance party. We decorated with balloons and streamers. I got to wear a flashing princess crown and I put on my Rapunzel wedding dress.
Here is the cake table with my cake, cookies and the flowers that Emma brought for me.
Emma and Maya were the first to arrive at the party and they joined right in the dancing.
A little later, Uncle Stephen, Aunt Natalie, Uncle Louis and Cousin Colton arrived.
We put a crown on Colton too.
I changed into a party dress at some point and continued dancing.
At one point I got Uncle Louis to dance with me. I showed him a few of my moves.
Aunt Natalie joined in too. She did some spins with me while Uncle Stephen and Colton watched.
Colton likes to show off his teeth when he smiles.
We had a princess castle pinata. I got to hit it first.
It was a really strong pinata and eventually, Daddy had to break it open with his hands!
I put the candles in the cake and then we took it outside to sing happy birthday
But it was too windy so we went back inside and did the singing inside instead.
I blew out all my candles.
It was a great birthday party and I had a lot of fun. Mommy and Daddy were grateful that they didn't have a messy house to clean up too!

Fifth Birthday
The one thing I asked for was an Angelina Ballerina DVD and it was the first thing I happened to open.
I also got some new books. Mommy picked the three stories from the new season of children's theater that we didn't already own.
Then I wanted to go for the big present. I moved it away from the wall by myself.
It was a new mirror for me to have in my own room. This way I don't always have to go to Mommy and Daddy's room when I want to check out my outfit.
Grandma Donna sent me some clothes and these nifty glasses!
Mommy's friend from work, Bonnie, gave me a really cool big sister t-shirt with my name on it.
A few weeks ago I told my babysitter Janelle that I wanted her to get me water colors for my birthday. Thankfully she passed this information on to my Mommy and Daddy. I used them first thing so I clearly really wanted them, but for some reason didn't tell them.
New brushes too!
After Daddy went to work, Emma came over to spend the day. We went to Masse's to have a little fruit tart. Paul and Cathy put candles in it and sang to me.
I shared the candles with Emma.
I took the apples out of my tart and ate them on their own.
Then I ate the crust part like a cookie.
Emma and I got to go get our nails done. Here we are soaking our feet.
It was hard for us to reach our feet all the way down, so we scooched down and then stretched out and relaxed.
We talked while we got our fingers painted.
After lunch with Daddy in San Rafael and a nice nap, Emma and I went outside for some bubbles and chalk.
Then when Emma's Mommy and Daddy came to get her, we did birthday cake. Mommy made it while I was painting. It was a heath bar cake. I had five candles.
After that we went out to a nice dinner at a restaurant in Oakland. I got more candles on my strawberry shortcake dessert. Then Daddy took me to Powell's candy store and I got a free gelato along with the candies we bought. I had already had a lot of dessert so we saved the ice cream for later. It was a really great birthday!
