Read a thon

Lily had a read-a-thon at school recently. She had to read as much as she could in two weeks. She did a great job and ended up reading for 10 hours and 10 minutes. One of the days she had to dress up as her favorite book character. We had recently seen a play about Ivy and Bean so she decided to dress up as Ivy. We spent a loooooong time working on getting curly hair. We have tried many things in the past that haven't worked. This time we took a shower and while her hair was still wet we rolled in the little cheapie foam rollers. I sprayed it with hairspray and blew it with the blowdryer. Then she slept in them. The next morning when we unrolled, the hair was super curly and it stayed curly until the next day!

Nora's bday party

Lily's friend Sofia got a new baby sister last February. Recently we were invited to her house to celebrate Nora's first birthday. They had a party with bunny rabbits. Lily dressed up in a dress from Christmas to celebrate.

 Fiona watched from the sidelines as the rabbit lady set everything up.

 The rabbit lady gave a little speech before putting out any rabbits. Her biggest piece of advice was to sit still so you didn't end up in  wet spot!

 Then she started putting out the bunnies and telling us about all the different kinds. Daddy had scared Lily a bit with warnings that the bunnies might try to bite her so she sat back a bit and didn't really try to touch.

 I took Fiona in and showed her the bunnies and tried to make Lily feel more comfortable with them.

 Later the big kids went out back to jump on the trampoline and Fiona and I played in the living room.

8 Months

On my 8 month birthday the big news was that Mommy caught sight of my first tooth coming in on the bottom. I have also started to say the da da sound. I am about 17 pounds and I can get into anything. Mommy, Daddy and Lily have to be really careful about where they put stuff now because my reach is pretty long!

School Pictures

Most days of the week, my teachers send Mommy and Daddy an email with some information about what we did in school that day and it includes pictures they took of us. Here are the ones they've sent so far this year.

 A music lady came one day and she let me play with the drums.
