On Monday, all my friends got together at the park and we had our second annual photo shoot. Last year it was a Sears and we all had to be propped up. It was funny. This year, we were harder to keep in one place. The photographer took some individual pictures of us while we were playing and then we took a couple all together. You will notice in the all together one, we are all eating. It was the only way to make us all quiet! The photographer posted a few of the pictures on her blog so here is the link.

Pumpkin Carving and Cookie Decorating
Last weekend we had an impromptu Halloween party. Mommy invited my friends over to carve pumpkins and decorate the sugar cookies we made earlier in the day. I had the most fun with the cookies. Then I felt like I gained too much weight and I needed to take off my clothes. First I took off my shirt and then I tried to pull off my pants. I can't get jeans down yet though, so I just ended up with lowriders.

Making Cookies
I got to help Mommy and Daddy make some sugar cookies for Halloween. It was fun, but I liked eating the frosting Mommy made the best!

Dancing and stuff
Daddy was cooking breakfast on Saturday and he turned on some music. I started dancing in my high chair so Mommy taped it. I was eating waffles with dip (syrup), so Mommy had removed my shirt to keep it clean.

bubbles
I have learned to blow bubbles in the pool and I wanted to show Daddy so I did it in the tub for him. Here is a video Mommy took of it.

pumpkin patch
Mommy and Daddy took me out to the middle of nowhere this weekend to get some pumpkins. It was great! There were animals and tons of pumpkins. I hardly knew where to turn. I immediately started gathering the pumpkins that I wanted into a pile. Daddy finally stopped me and we took a wheelbarrow ride out to the actual patch to pick our carving pumpkins. I had a hard time picking, but I finally found one I liked. It was a fun time.

Pony Ride
Mommy and Daddy took me to a festival in Berkeley today. Mommy saw the pony rides and really wanted me to go. She wasn't sure I would like it. Turns out, ponies are much better than cows!

What's my name
I can say my own name now. It kind of sounds like how the priest at my christening said it.

17 Months
I am 17 months old today. I am such a big girl now. I say please and thank you all the time. I know the names of all my friends at school and recognize them when I see them in the morning. I love to say hi and bye to everyone that I see. I have learned how to tickle people and even tickle my stuffed animal sometimes. I say so many words, Mommy has stopped counting them now. I have only gained about a pound and not even an inch since last month.
I love shoes right now. When I want to go out or on a walk, I will bring Mommy and Daddy their shoes. I have learned to take my own shoes off, but I haven't yet managed to get them on yet. I can also take off my clothes and my diaper if I want. I enjoy trying to put on my clothes, but I can't get them all the way on yet. I can get my head in my shirt, but not my arms. I can also take off and put on my own bib.
I am still a difficult eater. I don't eat very much at a time. I am pretty adventurous and will try lots of new things, but I am not eating very much meat still. Every once in a while I will eat some, and if you put dip on it, I am more likely to try it. I eat with a fork and spoon now and can drink out of a cup too.
I am a big climber. I like to try to get on top of everything. I also like to jump off things. I have given myself multiple bruises and fat lips this month doing that. I think that if I jump, Mommy or Daddy will catch me, even if they are not right there.
I still love to read and have several favorites that I know words to. I like to sing songs with Mommy that have things for me to do. My favorite is Open Shut Them. My favorite toys right now are blocks, legos and shape sorting toys. The swings and slide are still my favorites at the park. I still want to do everything by myself. I am almost ready to climb down the stairs by myself. I can go up small sets on my own and I can go up larger ones using the rails. I am a very busy girl!

Ticka Ticka
Mommy and Daddy love to tickle me (which I am sure is no surprise to my Dundo Lou). But now I have learned to tickle back!

Manners
Mommy and Daddy are working on manners with me. I am starting to say please and thank you. I will do it when they ask me to almost all the time. I am just beginning to use them on my own. When I really want something that Mommy and Daddy aren't giving me, I know if I say please on my own, I will get it. And the teacher at daycare told Mommy that I said thank you after getting my diaper changed the other day.
