Easter Saturday

We began our Saturday before easter (and Mommy and Daddy's 17th wedding anniversary) with a breakfast trip to cheeseboard.

Then we headed over to the park for Berkeley's annual egg hunt and easter fun.

Fiona was having fun with her basket until...
We headed over to see the Easter bunny. Lily loved him as usual,
but Fiona was less enthusiastic. She burst into tears and got Daddy to uppie her. Then she refused to look at the bunny.
Daddy asked her to touch his hand like he was. She looked, but was still crying.
While crying the brave little girl did a millisecond touch of the bunny's hand before burying her face in Daddy's shoulder again.
A trip to the tire swing brightened her mood.

After a brief visit with the firetruck, it was over to the petting zoo. Fi liked looking, but only Lily really touched anything.

Then it was time for the main event, the easter egg hunt. They divide it up by age, so only Fiona hunted with a little help from Lily. We were all lined up to go out and hunt when that darn easter bunny came over to say hi to the potential hunters. I managed to distract Fiona at first, but eventually she noticed him and wanted up again. And then she didn't want to hunt since he was out there. He moved away from our area and then she went to town, filling her basket and Lily's.

After that it was home for some swing time in the yard.

Lily and Fiona found a salamander and spent some time watching it on this piece of wood.
And of course, there had to be some more easter egg dyeing. Fiona liked putting the little metal holder that comes with the kits in her mouth after she would dip it in the dye. Eww.

Yummy corn!
