Last Weekend

Last weekend was pretty busy. While Daddy was out on his Saturday run, I decided to read some books on the floor in my room. I moved my pillow and some blankets onto the floor and started reading.
After grocery shopping, the butcher, the cheeseboard AND target, I went to Juliet's princess birthday party in the park by our house. We all got to dress up in pretty clothes.
After some yummy snacks of carrots and hummus, pb&j and fruit, we got to do the pinata. It was a string pull pinata and not a hitting one, but even after all the strings got pulled, the pinata didn't break!
Juliet's Daddy helped open it all the way so we could get the goodies inside.
After the pinata it was time for Happy Birthday and some cake. I ate with the birthday girl. Yummy!
Then on Sunday we got up early and drove to Monterey to meet up with our friends Melina and Nalani and their parents at the aquarium. It was a lot of fun. We watched the tuna get fed and saw the new Great White shark. We looked at many other fish, jellyfish, the octopus and sea horses. We also spent a lot of time at the touch pool areas. My very favorite part though, was this glass window area where a wave would crash over your head and come pouring down around you. I spent a whole lot of time there.
Later we all left to go have lunch. We picked a really touristy place and it was terrible. The waitress spilled beer on Daddy's food and did nothing about it. She forgot to order Mommy's food and then couldn't remember what she ordered. Mommy finally got her food after everyone else had finished. The best part was, as the waitress explained, that due to our large party size, the gratuity was included :) How nice for her since she wouldn't have gotten a tip otherwise! What a disaster.
Last time we went to Monterey (2 years ago), which happened to be with the same family, we had a bad dining experience as well. We have decided next time to leave the touristy area in favor of downtown Monterey to try to find some decent food!
