A few weeks ago we headed up to ranch at Cottonwood for the weekend. The girls had an easy drive using the kindles to watch movies and videos.
The first morning we got up and Daddy made homemade biscuits and we had cinnamon rolls.
Then we headed out to look at the cows. They were beginning to round them all up. We met a baby orphan calf named Norman.
Fiona liked to look, but did not touch!
Next Lily and I got to go for a ride. Lily is meeting her horse Nelson.
She had to work on brushing and hoof picking and tacking up.
My horse was named Cheeto. We headed out on a little ride once we had our lesson.
Fiona had a ride of her own in the 4 wheeler with Daddy.
After riding around the corral area, we headed out into a field.
Fiona got a turn on Nelson when we got back.
Then Daddy took us all out for a tour of the ranch. Fi got to start out driving us again.
After the ride we went back to the house and Lily and James got dropped off to go on a little tubing ride down the creek. Once they returned, Fi got in with Daddy for about 2 minutes.
She had more fun playing with the water gear on land!
Later, we went back out to the cows and Lily got to feed Norman a bottle.
The next day was the big day at the ranch, they were branding and castrating the calves. I will spare everyone those pictures, tho if you really want to see, James posted some branding ones to his facebook page.
We took a drive in the 4 wheeler up to the top of a hill on the property and then we took a picture of the girls together.
Then I took a picture of James and the girls.
And James took a picture of the girls and me.
Then Lily took a picture of James, Fiona and me.
Fi found a little red cowboy hat to play with right before we left.
It was a fun, but tiring weekend!
