The Schultz Family at the Zoo

Lily really wanted to visit the zoo while we were in San Diego, so we planned to meet up with the Schultz cousins. We began with a trip to get one of Mommy's favorite raspberry muffins.

The zoo was HOT and we spent some time playing around in the shade to get some relief from the heat.
Colin, Riley and Fiona liked looking at the turtles.

We hung out by the elephants for a while too.

They have some huge elephant sculptures that we climbed on after seeing the real animals.

After that we got on the skyfari to head to the other side of the zoo to meet up with Uncle Louis on his lunch break. I took the girls with me and James and Karrie took the boys in another car.

Some hot kids checking out the polar bears.

After finding Uncle Louis, we had a quick snack break for a cool treat.

We got all the kids together on a turtle for one quick shot before there was some crying.
The kiddos and some hippos.

Riley really loved Fiona and they held hands some while walking to the panda exhibit.
After parting ways with our cousins, we hit the gift store. Lily tried on some butterfly wings.
We hopped in the car and drove out to Alpine so that Daddy could try out a brewery. Fi fell asleep in the car and decided not to wake up when we arrived so Daddy got to drink his beer with her asleep on his shoulder.
After we returned home we took our evening beach walk. This is our selfie on the beach.
Fi got a sweet ride and didn't have to walk:)

Beach time begins!

To avoid a plane ride with a punky 2 year old, we opted for a southern California beach vacation in the car. Here we are all packed up and ready to head out Friday afternoon. We drove to Grandpa's house so that we could get an early start on vacation on Saturday.

After Grandpa made us a yummy dinner of steak, lamb, corn and pasta, we played in the living room, had ice cream AND popcorn.
The next day we got back in the car and headed to Pacific Beach. We found our condo and took a first walk on the beach before searching out some food. We went to a brewery (what a shock!) and had a yummy dinner and some drinks to begin our vacation.

Fi conked out next to Lily in her new digs.
Here we are during our sunset beach walk.
Lily got to enjoy some shave ice on the beach.
Nap time after a morning playing on the beach!

Fiona loves her dress from Uncle Stephen and Aunt Natalie.
A little cuddle time in the chair before bed.
The girls spread out on the beach.
Lily has no problem getting down and dirty in the sand!
 Fiona loves her floatie.
 Lounging.
Wiped out after some time playing in the water!
 My beach babies.

Daddy spent a lot of time in water. Here he is after a session of boogie boarding.
Fiona enjoyed filling her watering can in the ocean.
We went to dinner at a restaurant next to a fire station called the fire house. We sat on the deck in the sun so Daddy put his hat on Fiona to protect her neck from the sun.
 My Lily:)
We walked onto the pier for the sunset after dinner.

We loved our time at the beach!
